Haryana

About Haryana
Haryana is a landlocked state in northern India, which is surrounded by Punjab and Himachal Pradesh to the north and Rajasthan to the west and south. Its eastern border touches Uttaranchal & Uttar Pradesh that is defined by river Yamuna. This state also surrounds Delhi on three sides, forming the northern, western and southern borders of Delhi. A large area of the state is included in the National Capital Region (NCR) and two emerging cities - Gurgaon and Faridabad are close to Delhi and major hubs for IT and software industry.

Haryana state is one of the most agrarian states in India covered with greenery all around. The state is famous for wheat and milk production and the vast plains that stretch between river Indus and Gangetic belt have fertile soil and hence have improved the crop productivity of the country. It has a beautiful golf course, number of azure lakes glittering amidst the hills, deciduous forests and miles spread wheat and paddy field are all that characterize a true beauty of Haryana. God must be generous while creating the rustic nature and serene water bodies which are co-existing sarcastically in Haryana. The green revolution of Haryana  is the outcome of the effort of the arduous Haryanvi people living here for centuries.

Airports
Chandigarh has a domestic airport, which is located nearly 12 kilometers from the city centre. Jet Airways, Air Deccan and Indian Airlines operate regular flights from Chandigarh to New Delhi Jammu, Srinagar, Leh and Mumbai. Pre-paid taxi and luxury buses are available just outside the airport for onward tour.

Rail junctions
Chandigarh state, the terminus of Northern Railway, is connected with Mumbai, Delhi, Kalka, Howrah and other major cities with super fast and luxurious trains. And Rajdhani Express daily runs from Chandigarh to Delhi.

Weather
The Weather of this state remains hot in summer and markedly cold in winters. The rainfall in the region is low and erratic except in parts of the Karnal and Ambala districts. The best season to visit Haryana is during the spring seasons from February to April and Aug to Nov.

Location
It is bordered by the state of Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, by the union territory and city of chandigarh, and by the delhi national capital territory. And occupies an area of 17,070 sq mi (44,212 sq km.)

Transport
The Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) of Haryana, located in Sector-17 has regular bus services to the most major cities of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Delhi. Most of Haryana's inhabitants use their private vehicle to commute inside the cities. Rickshaw, bus and auto-rickshaws are the prime modes of public vehicle here.
