Location
Daman & Diu is a rocky and sandy place which interior reaches a maximum altitude of 29 meters above sea level, and palms and coconut trees strew this island. This place is about 786 km from Daman and is bound by Chasi River on the north and the Arabian Sea on the other three sides. The total area of this place is about 33 sq. km. and is connected to the mainland by two bridges.

Weather
Both of these islands have typically maritime climate and pleasant atmosphere that attracts the tourists throughout the year. And summers of Daman are generally hot in comparison to Diu. It's climate is highly affected because of the sea and its gentle breezes which makes it a cool and dry place.

Airports
Daman is provided with an airport and is connected to Baroda and Mumbai. Only traveler's cheques are exchangeable and for Diu, there are regular air services of Gujarat Airlines that fly to Mumbai.


Rail junctions
The main railhead of this place is Vapi, which is 10 km away. Vapi is about 90 km from Surat and 170 km from Mumbai. Buses and auto rickshaws are also available to Daman from Vapi. It's nearest railhead is Delwada, 8 km from Diu, which is located between Una and Ghoghla.


Transport
If you loves long drives, then the roads transport of this place would be the ideal mode of transport for you to reach Daman & Diu. If you want ot go by road, then Daman is located at a distance of 367 km from Ahmedabad, 193 km from Mumbai and 300 km from Vadodra by smooth road network. These cities are connected by NH-8(National Highway).
