This place is not very large, only 491 sq. Kms. is covered with forests and woods, a heaven for the simple, colourful tribal folks. But as a place, it will stay on the margins of your mind beautifully.

In Portuguese, Silva means Woods. And this can be seen when you visit Silvassa, a tiny, sleepy capital township. It is integrated with tall trees reaching for the heavens line the roads. It has great tourism sector which has been assigned a high priority keeping in view the deep forest area and favourable climate. The prominent places of tourist interest Tad keshwara temple on Sakartod river at Brinddaban. You can visit various beautiful gardens on the banks of river at Silvassa and Khanvel. Tourist complex at Khanvel named "Van Vihar" has been set up very well. Van Ganga and Vandhara Garden on the Damanganga river, Bai Udyam, are other great locations to visit or picnic points. There is also a Deer Park and a Tribal Museum as well. The development of water sports at Dudhani has been completed and Khadia Van Resort at Luhari is in full swing, i hope you will like these places too. Economy class tourist accomodation "Yatri Niwas" at Silvassa has been made operation there.

Location
Dadra and Nagar Haveli is located in the western corner of India.Being a union territory fo India, it is quite small, confined as it covered area which is less than 500 sq. km. Moreover awesome trees and winding rivers are beautiful.

Weather
Climate of this place is warm and humid during the summer months whereas less warm during the monsoon months. And the south-west monsoon from June to September, brings copious rain to the territory and the rainfall is about 250 to 300cm. Moreover the winter months are generally pleasant.

Transport
Dadra and Nagar Haveli does not have its own road transport system, it avails of Maharashtra and Gujarat state transport system. It's total road length is around 342 km. Bombay is the nearest airport from Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
